Prescriptions

The amount of opioid prescriptions dispensed has QUADRUPLED since 1999 but the pain that Americans report remains unchanged.

Opioid Overdose

The United States is in the midst of an opioid overdose epidemic. Opioids (including prescription opioid pain relievers and heroin) killed more than 28,000 people in 2014, more than any year on record. At least half of all opioid overdose deaths involve a prescription opioid.

Know the Facts

According to the 2020 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), 40.3 million Americans, aged 12 or older, had a substance use disorder (SUD) in the past year. Substance use disorders continue to be an important health issue in our country.

Substance Misuse Crisis

America’s substance misuse crisis is a public safety and public health emergency that threatens the well-being of individuals who misuse drugs as well as their families, communities, and, ultimately, the nation. It impacts first responders, the criminal justice system, child welfare and foster care, behavioral health systems, and victim service providers. Supporting the field in addressing this epidemic is one of the U.S. Department of Justice’s top priorities

We Can Help

IDYA4 is working with agencies at the Federal, State, and Local levels to implement solutions that help combat this national crisis. IDYA4 has implemented and continues to support interoperable solutions that support healthcare providers and other members of interdisciplinary teams to review individual risk and intervene in a real-time manner to reduce the risk of another fatal overdose. The IDYA4 Opioid Interoperable Platform uses IDYA4’s patented Real Time Intervention Platform (RTIP) to connect disparate systems to provide a holistic view of the person’s behavior in terms of prescription usage, other behaviors that predict the risk of the person with regards to opioid misuse.
